Shield Capital has promoted David Rothzeid to Partner, Portfolio Operations. A member of the team since the firm’s founding in 2021, Rothzeid will lead SHIELD’s work to help scale its portfolio companies and open new markets.
Watchtower emerged from stealth with $35 million in seed financing led by Shield Capital and Conviction, with participation from Founders Fund. This one is personal. Watchtower was incubated inside Shield Capital. I’ve worked alongside the team from the earliest days and am honored to serve as Chairman.

Shield Capital today announced that Duncan Woodard has joined the firm as Director of Operations. Woodard will support the firm’s core business operations, working alongside the Chief Operating Officer across finance, treasury, investor relations, capital formation, fund administration, and compliance.
